As co-founder and head of Celerity Technologies, he has led R&D in optical devices, signal processing, and fiber link enhancements. With 20+ patents, 10+ publications, and top industry awards, Dr. Tong continues to shape the field.
Steve Yao, PhD

Dr. Yao is an IEEE and Optica Fellow, he is a leader in photonics and polarization. He founded General Photonics (acquired by Luna Innovations), creating award-winning fiber optic products like the squeeze & turn controller. He also co-founded OEWaves and invented the Opto-Electronic Oscillator. With a Ph.D. from USC, he holds 100+ publications, over 100 patents, and 12,000+ citations.
